Rachel, Farhanna, Alex, Cherelle, Eileen and Gregory

My last final performance with my band members and with the 5 of them haha Cherelle, Rach, Farhanna, Eileen and Greg. I had so much fun with them even though i always dun admit it, i would not know what to do if they weren't with me, accompanying me for the last 2 or 1 year.

As usual same procedure as what i did on Monday but one more thing i ran down to do the attendance before running up again to attend to the band. I was getting even nervous when the upper sec approach and i have no idea why. CKT, QH and Zharfan waved to me as i sat on stage. Started off with Diyana conducting Overture 1, i have no idea why but Overture 1 seem to captivate people more though haha. I played my best, tried my best to make sure the melody was send across to people and stuff, i already miss the part which Cherelle and I love the most before Part H the 2 important note that only the 2 of us trombone 1 have =]

Afterwards it was Alex's turn to conduct! Imagine how shy i was especially when some of my classmates shouted my name out loud, it somehow startled me but it also gave me an encouragement to do my best and help the band portray better for the choice piece =] Standing on the podium, waiting for everyone to settle down, staring down on the conductor score and enjoying the grip of the baton in my hand, has always been a honour for me, never had i thought i had this chance to ever conduct my band in front of people but Ms Yip has granted me, this senior this great honour and I was appreciating it when i stride up on to the podium. After checking, i raised my baton, waiting for them to bring up their instrument together before i gave my signal for them to start playing. As they did, memories of the past few months began overflowing in my mind as i conducted this familiar piece with that rhythm which was melody too.

I was too into the song that i did not watch my hand. I nearly screwed up! Calm as I was, I paused for a moment to remember when i heard this melody coming from the trumpets, flutes, horns and clarinets. I came in on time to lead the band into the crescendo bar. The fast part came and everyone watched me as i gave the cue for the Euphonium to start it and trumpet to echo after them before sounds from various instrument joined in. I had anticipated this few bars which i was unable to present to my school, Bar 65, the melody that made the trombone section worried, excited and challenged. I was glad that they manage to do it nicely before moving on to the next part. What made me stared back at conductor's score was Benjamin's Bells part, yes i only looked at it when i screwed up but this was different, i had to cue him in which i did successfully which i wonder if anybody saw me pointing to Ben so that he would come in on the right time TWICE =] I was rather proud that i finally had the patience and hand coordination to signal someone in while conducting.

Finally! During the slow part i could hear this 2 quavers coming from cherelle and the euphonium players. The rest were nicely stacked up except for the melody, though i signalled for the horns to play louder than the Clarinets, they still didn't give me what i wanted but i dun blame them for it because they are probably rusty from not playing for a month. My glorious moment is ending soon as i cue them in to A tempo but i conducted very best, leading everything nicely before the song ended with last beat and signal to stop the music.

ENDS OF COMPO STYLE...

Phew! I had to think a lot on the way to descript my feelings and everything. The best you could do is NOT TO CRITICISE IT only Nik Voon is entitled to do it cause i trust him and obviously wants to help me get a better grade for English so this is a start of what i will be doing.

Yea I know to some of you conducting your band is not something honourable or awesome but to a person like me who has been loyal to the band and devoted to the band i feel like this is the best honour Ms Yip and the band has given me.

Anyways they explained about the MT Os before we return to class and that is when everyone started Going "chey Alex!" and pretended to conduct haha. Some were impress, some were not, well is is hard to please everyone but i hope my class and the rest of the upper sec love it.

Intensive was boring haix.
